What have we been doing?

I can't believe it is already May! Dalton has his last day of Kindergarten on May 25th (sniffle). I can't believe my little baby is going to be a in first grade.. So much has happened since my lazy bum has posted..

• Dalton started Kindergarten.. (I just realized how long its been since I posted)
• I chaperoned my first field trip.. to the Zoo. Fun was had by all. I couldn't walk for two days afterwards lol Getting old is NOT fun!
• Field day! Little guy didn't get a ribbon...but was so happy to get out there and try! I am a proud mommy!
• Easter and Easter Egg Hunts in the backyard with our neighbors
• Playdates with his friend Emma..with lots of Just Dance 2 involved
• He lost his first tooth. Tooth fairy left him $5. According to him the most important part of this is that the $5 was all in one dollar bills. ;-)
• We went to the Giant Treehouse in Crossville.. So much fun.. until an excited little boy who is jumping down the stairs starts to fall. I tense to grab him.. and I do..but I tore part of my quadricep muscle. That is some hardcore pain!

Busy time in the Brady house! I am going to do better about posting. Next post will be pictures, but it is time to go get Dalton from school.. So I have to go!

The DVR Debacle

I love my DVR.
I love that I can pause live tv, rewind if I missed something, fast forward through commercials, and record the end of a show if I just can't stay awake any longer. I love it! I have several shows set up as series recordings....

• Grey's Anatomy
• Private Practice
• NCIS
• The Secret Life of the American Teenager (it is my guilty pleasure show) lol
• Glee
• True Blood

I work nights..so a DVR is a must.. I am just never home when my shows come on... and the DVR should make my life so much easier...right??

WRONG!

I currently have a month of Grey's and PPs to watch..2 weeks of NCIS,and 3 episodes of Secret Life. Thankfully, I am caught up with Glee (loved the Madonna episode!!) and the True Blood season hasn't started yet. lol I am overwhelmed! I am so behind..that I don't know which show to catch up on first.. I know.. silly problem..but I have this issue.. I get weird when my DVR is about 40% full.. I can't delete any of my above listed shows yet.. I have other shows that I recorded on a whim ( of course haven't watched yet) and then the children's programming.. Dalton learned how to record what he is watching..So I will look and see 19 minutes of Yo Gabba Gabba, and 5 minutes of Dora..etc..etc.. on top of his shows that I keep on there (Billy the Exterminator, Backyardigans. Ni Hao Kai Lan, Upside down show, and Monster Jam).. So currently the DVR in the living room is at 63%! Ack! The DVR in my bedroom is at 50%...double ack! Yes I have two dvrs.. I spoil myself..but anyway.. random silly rant over...

Hair Tidbit

Are clarifying shampoos too strong for my hair?

MAYBE. "Clarifying shampoos will strip all hair but I warn color-treated hair to stay far away," says Chiccine. "Instead, combine five aspirin with a quart of water. Shampoo with your regular cleanser and rinse, and then apply this mix, and rinse it out. It removes product build-up without stripping hair and even gets the yellow out of silver shades."

I'm the lucky mom to my messy rowdy boy.
He's 3..will be 4 in November.
He's the reason I can wake up in the morning.
I'm 29..which is the new 22. haha
I dread turning the big 3-0.
Hopefully I will be too drunk to remember it.

They love me inspite of my moods.
I go thru antisocial moments.
Eventually, they go away.

My family used to be very close and crazy in a good way.
Then my father passed and things went to hell in a handbasket.
He was the glue that held us together.
He will be gone 3 years on May 7th.
The pain of losing him never fades.
I doubt it ever will.
I have many sisters and 1 brother.
I talk to one sister often.
I talk to another when she will answer her damn phone. ;-)
..the other.. well.. the only good she has done is give me 3 fabulous nephews.
My mom rocks.
I like to play guitar hero.
Dalton likes to play too.
He says that he and I are ROCKSTARS.
I love Grey's Anatomy.
I only recently started watching Scrubs.
It's funny as hell.
I love General Hospital.
I get pissy that I have to miss it to work sometimes.
I need to get a DVR..my "Tivo" isn't working.
I once called TIVO and went off on the customer service lady.
My machine wasnt working and she said we didn't have an account.
After 30 minutes of arguing and me telling her to get her head out of her ass..
I looked at my TIVO and realized it wasn't a TIVO afterall.
It was from REPLAY TV.
I hung up on the lady and laughed
ALOT
I hate actually flipping channels.
I usually just end up watching the TV Guide Preview Channel.
Yes I'm a dork.

Babble

Well, I am still trying to get used to this blogging on a regular basis goal. haha

Things are well on the home front. Dalton's pictures from school look amazing. I am scannerless right now. So eventually I will get them posted. He looks so big! (well he is I guess lol) They are 20's style..He's in a pair of denim overalls..such a cutie.

The First

This is my first "babbling" attempt. It is almost 2am..so I can't promise to make sense. I really am not sure what to talk about, what do you want to know? Dalton is doing great at his new daycare. He loves his teacher, Mrs. Claudia. He calls her "claudee". Its really cute. Drop offs are still a bit iffy, but improving. Dalton is still involved in speech therapy. Wendy ( or weebee in dalton speak) visits him at school twice a week. He really looks forward to seeing her. I will be sad when he ages out of his therapy (November). What else? Oh yes, potty training... well ... hmmm.. Dalton is doing it on his time. He tries to potty at school...most of the time it is a false alarm. But that is okay! Its a start. At home on the other hand..the kid is a urinating machine! LOL Either he has a bitty bitty bladder or he never really empties it. He will scream, "Dot dot pee pee potty!" and then we run to the bathroom..he gets situated on the potty..and looks down..and magically he goes potty! After he's "done" ..he looks up at the ceiling, closes his eyes, and screeches (squeals) "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS". So we do the happy dance, wash our hands, and run to tell Mamaw. Three minutes later..what do I hear? "Dot dot pee pee potty" .. Repeat all the above steps..Five minutes later...guess what? lol Yup..the kid wants to go again. Silly boy. I think he could be completely trained now if he wanted to..he just doesn't. I thought about trying to put in him big boy underwear one day and see what happens.. but I don't think I have enough pairs to last through the accidents. Okay...enough for now..comment me :-) Oh yeah.. I added a picture because I'm cool like that..it was last week. I can't get the boy to sit still long enough for a real picture, so this will have to do.
