What have we been doing?

I can't believe it is already May! Dalton has his last day of Kindergarten on May 25th (sniffle). I can't believe my little baby is going to be a in first grade.. So much has happened since my lazy bum has posted..

• Dalton started Kindergarten.. (I just realized how long its been since I posted)
• I chaperoned my first field trip.. to the Zoo. Fun was had by all. I couldn't walk for two days afterwards lol Getting old is NOT fun!
• Field day! Little guy didn't get a ribbon...but was so happy to get out there and try! I am a proud mommy!
• Easter and Easter Egg Hunts in the backyard with our neighbors
• Playdates with his friend Emma..with lots of Just Dance 2 involved
• He lost his first tooth. Tooth fairy left him $5. According to him the most important part of this is that the $5 was all in one dollar bills. ;-)
• We went to the Giant Treehouse in Crossville.. So much fun.. until an excited little boy who is jumping down the stairs starts to fall. I tense to grab him.. and I do..but I tore part of my quadricep muscle. That is some hardcore pain!

Busy time in the Brady house! I am going to do better about posting. Next post will be pictures, but it is time to go get Dalton from school.. So I have to go!

6 days..

of the funk..

I have been sick for 6 days...6 days of nausea, 6 days of vomiting, and 6 days of well other very unpleasant things. I finally broke down and went to the doctor today..

I've lost 7 lbs in the 6 days I've been sick. Yay! Oh wait.. thats been 6 days without a real meal, or even a meal consisting of more than a few bites of food. So boo!

Should have some answers this week hopefully.

I'm really not in a mood to blog..but I'm doing it anyway.

I went Monday and got my hair cut..yes AGAIN.. I decided I wanted to go shorter..
Went to work.. 5 minutes into my shift some stupid ass hits my car!Stupid Hit and Run Driver.. I'm pissed..but what can ya do? Police came.. called my insurance company.. all this lead to nerves from hell..so I went home. Spent half the night on the phone w/ various people at Erie.

Tuesday, I picked up a copy of my insurance policy..met the tow truck at work, and picked up a rental car. On my way to work I started having massive chest pains..so I detoured to the ER.BP 159/101.. No SVT.. blood work came back ok..no heart attack..kept me over night for observation and had a stress test this morning.. That was fun.. NOT. Came back okay.. am supposed to follow up w/ my cardiologist and primary doc.

So Good luck or Bad luck?

Bad- my car got hit.. then they ran...chest pain..high bp
Good- I have full coverage ins, my deductible isn't that high, didn't have a heart attack..not SVT related, now I'm home..

A Little Bit of Everything

Well, I am back! I finally decided to bite the bullet and start blogging again. Last night I spent an hour or so deciding on a new layout and figuring out how to personalize my header... What do you think?

So.. my life since November...

• My *coughcough31stcoughcough* birthday came and went.. I spent it with family and friends, we had a great time!
• We spent Christmas in Georgia with my sister and her family. The kids were spoiled..of course.. I will post pics in the next post.
• I believe I slept thru NYE.
• January was a great month! Mom and I headed to Nashville on January 19th for my pre-op appt with Dr. E, my Vanderbilt EP. The next morning, super bright and early.. I checked in at the Children's Hospital.. YES, the children's hospital.. Laugh all you want.. it is funny. haha Dr. E said my case was "challenging" and he wanted Dr. F to assist plus they had better mapping equipment. The procedure lasted almost SIX hours!! Appears I was just as difficult under general anethesia as I am awake. lol The SVT wasn't starting in the area they previously thought.... They had to ablate around 50 different spots! They went thru both legs and my neck. I woke up in horrid pain...was dosed and passed back out.. this happened for a few hours. I had to keep my legs completely still and lay flat for 6 hours! Luckily over half of that I was drugged. But the last few hours were hell. Then I woke up around 2am.. crying in pain. Once the nurse came in she realized that I had started bleeding internally on my left groin area and developed a rather large...okay huge.. hematoma. Better to bleed in than out I guess.. not as messy. Blah blah blah.. I wasn't allowed to get up and walk until they day I was released..>Friday. Walking was an ordeal.. onlookers thought it was a bit funny. I had that just pushed out a 20lb baby...but didn't ya know I didnt. Anyway....long story a bit shorter.. after much monitoring I was SVT free! I stayed SVT free until about 2 weeks ago.. Not great news..but it could be worse. I have had maybe 5 episodes since then..but not a one compared to pre ablation episodes. My followup in Nashville is Mid April.
• I am back at work! Yay!! After being out on leave for basically 8 months.. I was more than ready to go back! I missed my friends!! (love you guys!)
• Oh, pre surgery I had my hair done.. Elisha is the most awesome talented stylist ever!! (Enve Salon..) Pics on next post!
• Most that know me...know about the house fire in October.. They have finally started on the house...and man do they work fast!! They almost have the whole house gutted already!! Its amazing to see! At the rate they are going, we will probably be back in the house before August!
• Speaking of August.. my little monster starts school in the fall. I have been back and forth about where to send him...public or private. My cousin sends her boys to Freedom Christian Academy.. so Mom, Dalton, and I met with the principal on Wednesday and took a tour. That place is great! I really feel in my heart that is the place for Dalton. So I am filling out the application and praying that they will have a spot for Dalton in the fall!

Okay..update wise I think that is the scoop!

Supraventricular Tachycardia

Wow, I haven't updated since August.
I'm such a horrible blogger! lol

First a not fun post then a fun post, k?

So I have been diagnosed with Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT for short)

What is SVT?



I never had an episode of SVT until May 2009. I was at work ended up ambulance bound to UT Hospital. I thought it was just an f'ed up panic attack and convinced everyone else that too. Fast forward to August.. I had been given the run around by a cardiologist I won't name.. He told me I was fine..nothing was found. Yet I was still having episodes. I had to have my gallbladder removed and while under anesthesia, I went into SVT. Perfect timing.. it was seen and diagnosed! My fabulous surgeon, Dr. N, stopped my heart with adenocard and I went into normal sinus rhythm. So he referred me to an Electrophysiologist, Dr. H. Dr. H is the best Dr! My first appointment (consult) with him, I showed up in SVT.. heart rate around 180 bpm. They got it on EKG, then proceeded to go through the motions of converting me back to NSR. Not so easy.. ending up having to have an IV (in the office lol) and getting the Adenocard twice. Being awake while having your heart stopped for about 30 seconds is not fun. But the second time worked. I had to lie down for about 30 minutes afterward, once that was over I was told to get up and get dressed. So the nurse leaves, I stand up get dressed and my heart flips back to SVT. LOL Fun times!
They scheduled a cardiac ablation for the next week. Once they got in they realized he couldn't ablate me, it was too dangerous. I was then referred to another EP, this time in Nashville. A week after that attempted ablation, I went to pick up my dr's release to go back to work. I told the nurse about this burning pain I was having in my leg since the procedure. Dr H signed orders for an Ultrasound. Child in tow, we went to the ultrasound. Diagnosis.. Deep Vein Thrombosis.. aka Blood Clot! Greeeeeeeeeeat! I was on blood thinner shots already and still got this. So I spent almost a week in the hospital. I'm now on coumidin for a year. The clot should dissolve itself within 6 months. I went to Nashville on Nov 18th and met with Dr. E. He is great! He is going to coordinate schedules with another specialist. Then I will get a call about the date of my procedure. He says I have a very challenging case.. but the odds are great that he can fix this for good! Yay! So That is my update health wise. Next post will be fun! Promise!

This is going to be a long one..so buckle up..

Dalton is doing well. We are still working on the potty thing. My going back to work has backtracked him a bit. He seems to want to be babied a bit more lately. Like wanting me to rock him to sleep singing "rock a bye baby"..(he fell asleep during it). So I've been getting bunches of kisses, hugs, and snuggles lately.

Work is going well too. I enjoy my job. It is basically business-to-business sales. I am calling businesses that are advertising open positions in the paper and selling them ads in our employment magazine and website. I get a bit overwhelmed sometimes..but I can do this.

I am adjusting to the earlier hours little by little. We have to be in the car by 7:05am for me to get Dalton to daycare and get to work on time. It sucked major ass at first, because I am NOT a morning person. I am absolutely LOVING having weekends off and no nights required. Yay!

I started reading "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath today. It is a very interesting read. I'm only about 1/4 the way through it though..

I had CS court today. Took the morning off work and sat there for almost 4 hours for them to tell me...oops...we had you listed for today, but you are REALLY supposed to be here tomorrow. Ugh! So I get to sit there tomorrow too! Fun Fun.. Poor sperm donor is in for a world of trouble. I am pissy about having to go AGAIN, pissy at him specifically for reasons you all know, and I am PMSing as well.. lmao Start collecting money to get me out of jail please :-D

Update..

I got sidetracked with life.. lol Sorry.

I had a minor freak out that I didn't have anything appropriate to wear to work. An online order from Old Navy (Love their plus size dress pants...and the ones I loved most were on clearance!) and a trip to Fashion Bug..and I was set. Yay!

Sunday..I grilled steaks for the first time in my life. (I've only been grilling for almost a year). They turned out fabulous! I found the best seasoning.. Its by Mrs. Dash for Steaks and Damn..its good. I had been using the hamburger version..and its great too!

Monday (Memorial Day) ..Mom and I took Dalton to Fountain City Day in the Park. Its super fun. I went as a child..and I enjoy being able to take my boy too. They have booths set up selling handmade items..local restaurants set up booths with food as well, and local churches usually have a booth and something fun for the kids to do. Dalton did a game for the first time..it was one of those where you through a ball through the mouth of a fish (great big wooden thing...I suck at explaining..but surely you know what I mean) ...He got 4 tries for $2....everyone gets a prize...even if you don't actually win.. (super cool for the littles)..He got the last one in! He was so excited. He picked out a little toy and off we went. Another church had a great big blow up jumper thing..free too! Dalton was too scared to try it last year..but since he's "Big" now..he wanted to.. and he had a ton of fun. He got to play on the playground for ever...then he decided he wanted to ride the Horse..( they have horse drawn carriage rides thru the park ..on the track). He didn't chicken out either.. He was a bit nervous at first..but soon perked up. We were there for over 3 hours.

Then we stopped by CVS to get Mom's meds..and picked up some things.. Croc like shoes for Dalton to wear outside...a shaver ( he wants me to buzz his hair..), a few chairs for the porch...and new sunscreen.

We came home and I opened his slip and slide. I bought it at the end of last summer on clearance..and saved it. Lathered him up in more sunscreen..myself too..I was a bit red by this point.. He had a blast..thought it was the coolest thing.

I grilled hamburgers..and as I was grilling..it was beginning to look overcast.. The winds picked up as the sky was darkening.. I was silently begging my burgers to get done before the rain started..Well they didn't..about the time the rain started..our power went out. Did I mention Dalton freaks when our power goes out?? Yeah..kid freaked..once he found his flash light he calmed a tad. I finished the burgers in a hurry..and we had a "flashlight" picnic on the screened in porch by the pool. By the time we were done eating..our lights came back on.. Yay!

Tuesday..I started my new job. I had to be there by 8am..and its a good 15 minutes a way without traffic.. Poor Dalton..we were pulling up at the daycare at 7am..when they opened. He was confused because his friends hadn't showed up yet. lol I got to work with about 10 minutes to spare... Spent the day in training.. which is done via conference calls. The day went fast.. I get home and change clothes..and my poor ankle/cankle and calf were so swollen..almost up to my knee. It felt like a burning tingle.. very strange.. It once I put my feet up it started getting better. Today..they swelled up again..bad.. So I am going to look for a little stool I can rest my feet on at my desk. That helped when I was pregnant.

Umm..thinking.. I think that is all. Oh I do have pictures from Memorial Day..and I will try to upload them this weekend.

A real blog update..

So much going on..where to start..

I'm unemployed. Since last week.
Dalton was sick beginning of the week..Tuesday I took him to the pediatrician..
Long story, short..the evil person and I got into it. Because he's a heartless bastard. (Laugh all you want Nateah..you know I want to call him worse things haha)

I had an interview...at a temp agency last week.
I aced the exams..

typing: 60 wpm
100% on windows, word and excel

Yay! I needed that ego boost lol

I went to another job interview today..went very well.. I think I've got it. More info on that tomorrow.

Monday morning I woke up to take Dalton to daycare..well Mamaw chauffeured us because I sprained my ankle (just walking) Saturday. Dalton looked at my car and said, "Mommy's car's broke". Some son of a bitch tried to break into my car overnight and broke the little window on the back seat. &^%^$&#* I felt so violated. So I called the police and filed a police report..the officer said they hit a few cars on my road. Busy night. @@@ Mom realized later that she had left her car unlocked..and Dalton's portable dvd player is gone. They didn't actually get into my car..the door handle and the unlocker thingie is too far up from the window they broke. So I called around to see if I could get it fixed on my own cheaper than the $500 insurance deductible. Today a place came to my house and fixed it for around $150.. Yay! I heard great things about their work..and their prices.. All of it I found true.

I picked dalton up from daycare for his tball game..to be told that in the past 2 hours he had diarrhea 3 times. Greeeeeeeeeeattt.. They didn't think they needed to call me since it was so close to pick up time. I will have a little chat with the director tomorrow. So no tball..I have a whiny hiney boy tonight.

OH ..another blog coming soon..about my girls night Sunday with Sabrina..that deserves a post all by itself.
